PLC and process design

A great design is conducive to process automation. We provide a range of supporting documentation, like comprehensive sequence charts, to navigate complex system integration plans. IQ Corporation has been developing and refining structured PLC program methodologies since 2003, applied across an array of industries and customers.

It's one thing to write code; it's another for a customer to be able to read and understand it. We deliver fully annotated, readable PLC logic that you can expand on long after the project is complete.

cGMP · 21 CFR Part 11

Life science integration

We work well within the strict regulations and expectations of pharmaceutical environments, and provide the manpower needed for critical situations. We're well trained in delivering solutions inside quality environments where cGMP and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements must be met, with classified and aseptic area experience.

Let us make sure your critical pharmaceutical automation project finishes on time, on budget and, most importantly, within compliance.

SCADA · HMI

Program and HMI engineering

We're fluent in many languages and platforms, from Visual Basic and C# to FactoryTalk, AVEVA and Ignition. We pair decades of legacy experience on Wonderware InTouch and Intellution FIX32 with today's web-ready, modern-architecture solutions, and deliver scalable, well-documented applications that grow with your business.

Along the way we've built an extensive set of libraries to offer one of the most comprehensive solutions available. If we don't have a module you need, we'll build it.

Legacy equipment

Repair, replace, upgrade

Mechanically sound but electrically obsolete? We bring state-of-the-art PLC and HMI controls to legacy equipment at a fraction of the cost of new machinery.

Repair

We help extend the life of existing, aging automated equipment by re-engineering machines that are mechanically reliable but electrically obsolete. You get reduced downtime, reduced maintenance, greater throughput and better reporting and alarming.

Replace

Every project is comprehensively engineered and documented with the end user in mind — from upgrade master plans, specifications and functional design documents through panel design, P&IDs, HMI and PLC development, FATs, startup and commissioning, IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, operator manuals and documented training.

Upgrade

Retrofits and upgrades are a necessity to stay competitive in today's nimble manufacturing economy. We make sure your existing automation systems deliver the most for you today.

HVAC

Pharmaceutical-grade HVAC control on standard Allen-Bradley hardware.

Our HVAC control system is tailored to the demands of the pharmaceutical industry. The Allen-Bradley based solution gives extremely tight control of room pressure, temperature and humidity, with SCADA trending and reporting. It adapts to all types of packaged air handlers and helps you meet regulatory requirements.

We've also built systems for cooling towers, multi-stage chillers and complete chilled water loops — all on standard Allen-Bradley factory automation equipment.

Why it pays off

  • No proprietary-system fees (Honeywell, Landis & Gyr, Robertshaw)
  • Maintainable by your own Allen-Bradley-trained staff
  • Open to end-user modifications
  • Networks over Ethernet, DH+, DeviceNet, Modbus or fieldbus
  • Feeds data to enterprise software for display, trending and alarming
  • Automatic restart after power outages, so classified areas recover fast
  • Energy-saving routines that stay within regulatory limits

Environmental monitoring

Automated EMS meeting 21 CFR 211.42 and 21 CFR 1271.195.

Our fully automated Environmental Monitoring System (EMS) is built for the pharmaceutical industry. It satisfies the GMP provisions of 21 CFR 211.42 for drug manufacturing and 21 CFR 1271.195 for human cell and tissue products.

It eliminates the tedious task of manually monitoring and recording manometers, temperature sensors and humidity sensors to detect excursions in classified rooms — and it adapts to whatever HVAC control system your plant already uses, on standard Allen-Bradley hardware, Wonderware or Intellution SCADA, and MS SQL Server or Access.

What it does

  • Trends real-time and rolling-average room pressure, temperature and humidity
  • Detects out-of-spec conditions automatically
  • Alarms by email, on-call pager or to Quality Control
  • Logs every excursion and return-to-spec with a date/time stamp
  • Prints a daily room status report for QC review
  • Graphs historical and rolling-average values
  • Fully user-configurable points, sampling and reports

Every project comes fully documented

Whatever the industry, you receive a complete turnover package so your team can own the system.

  • Specification definitions
  • Functional design documents
  • Electrical engineering
  • Panel design
  • P&IDs
  • CAD drawings
  • Conduit and cable schedules
  • Bid documents
  • HMI development
  • PLC development
  • Factory acceptance tests
  • Startup and commissioning
  • IQ / OQ / PQ protocols
  • Operator manuals
  • Documented training
